About CC Payoff Calc, by Aissam Baidi
About ccpayoffcalc.com
ccpayoffcalc.com is a free credit card payoff calculator with one job: model your debt across avalanche, snowball, and balance-transfer strategies side by side, and let you pick the one that works for your numbers. No signup, no email gate, no affiliate links to debt-relief firms.
Why this site exists
The credit card payoff calculator market is dominated by lenders (Capital One, Bankrate’s affiliate platform), publishers monetizing card affiliate revenue (NerdWallet, CardRatings), and one-strategy calculators (Calculator.net). None of them put avalanche, snowball, and balance-transfer side by side in one calculation.
The math is not subtle. On a $5,000 balance at 22.30% APR, the spread between strategies can be $300-1,800. We built a tool that shows the spread.
We also publish the math openly. The methodology page documents every formula. The 2026 Debt Payoff Strategy Index shares findings from a 10,000-profile simulation. Our editorial position on debt-settlement firms is on the editorial policy page.
Who runs the site
Aissam Baidi, founder. Aissam is the primary author and product manager. Background: personal-finance writer and researcher with a focus on debt strategy. Aissam is not a CFP, NFCC counselor, or CPA. Role: research and product, not licensed financial advisor.

Soft Crown Editorial Team. The editorial team reviews all content for numerical accuracy, voice consistency, citation completeness, and YMYL disclaimer compliance.
We do not currently retain a credentialed financial reviewer (CFP, NFCC counselor, CPA) on staff. When such a reviewer is engaged, their name and credentials will be displayed on every reviewed page. Until then, we use the honest “Soft Crown Editorial Team , fact-checked against primary sources” attribution. We refuse to use placeholder credentials.
Our principles
Real data, primary sources. Every numerical claim cites a primary government source (Federal Reserve, CFPB, NY Fed), peer-reviewed academic research (Kellogg School), or directly from an issuer’s pricing page. We do not cite affiliate-driven listicles as authority.
No affiliate commissions on financial products. We do not earn commissions on credit card applications, personal loan applications, or balance-transfer card applications. Our card and loan rankings are based on math (months/fee, lowest APR) and verified terms.
No links to debt-relief firms. Debt-settlement firms typically produce worse outcomes than the math they replace. The FTC has a public consumer alert. We do not refer users to this category.
Human writers, fact-checked. All editorial content is human-written. AI tools may assist research synthesis or first-draft suggestions; no published content passes through without human review.
Open methodology. The math, simulation logic, and citation sources are documented. Anyone can verify our findings using the cited primary data.
How we make money
Display advertising on calculator pages. Currently served via Google AdSense (or equivalent programmatic ad network). Ads do not influence content. We have no relationship with advertisers beyond the ad network’s standard terms.
For the foreseeable future, we will not run sponsored content, native advertising, or affiliate links to financial products. If we ever change this policy, the change will be disclosed prominently before implementation.
Network
ccpayoffcalc.com is part of the Soft Crown SEO tool network, a small portfolio of free calculator sites built by the same founder. Each site is structurally independent (separate domain, separate operation) but shares editorial standards and the no-affiliate-on-financial-products policy.
You are not pushed across sites. ccpayoffcalc.com does not link to other Soft Crown sites; each site stands on its own.
